GAME, SET AND MATCH FOR...

  ΑΓΓΛΙΚΑ Γ΄ ΓΥΜΝΑΣΙΟΥ (Think Teen 2)

                                                 

         

Στο μάθημα Let the Games Begin οι μαθητές ήρθαν σε επαφή με χειμερινά ολυμπιακά αθλήματα και γνώρισαν μέσα από μία συνέντευξη το άθλημα curling.

Έμαθαν το καινούριο λεξιλόγιο και κλήθηκαν να ψάξουν στο διαδίκτυο, στην τηλεόραση ή και στον έντυπο τύπο πληροφορίες για τους αγαπημένους τους αθλητές.

Στο τέλος τους ζητήθηκε να γράψουν ως interviewers μία φανταστική συνέντευξη ενός αγαπημένου  τους αθλητή.

                                        An Interview with Lionel Messi

Interviewer: Here we are in the national studium of France and standing next to me is Lionel Messi.                           So,Leo, tell us a few things about yourself.

Messi: Well, I was born on 24th June, 1987 and from an early age I had a passion for football.

Interviewer: How long have you been playing Football?

Messi: At the age of 4 I started playing football wiyh my older brothers and a few months later I joined            a lical football club.

Interviewer:Really! You started playing this early?I bet your family must have supported you, didn't                         they?

Messi: Of course, they did. My family had been in love with football well before I was born. My father               was actually the one who used to coach me at that club.

Interviewer: You must have been really lucky back then, weren't you?

Messi: No, I was not lucky at all. When I was 10 years old, I was diagnosed with a growth hormone                  deficiency. The treatment for this illness costed 1000$ a month, so it wasn't easy back then to get            by.

Interviewer:Have you recovered from the disease yet?

Messi: Thankfully, yes, I have.

Interviewer: I didn't know all these things about you. Thank you for your time and I wish you the best!

               

                               An Interview with Giannis Antetokoympo

Interviewer: Hello, Giannis! You scored 60 points at tonight's game. How do you feel about it?

Giannis: I am very happy about it, I practised a lot for this game.

Interviewer: Giannis, where are you from?

Giannis: My family is from Nigeria but I was born and raised in Athens, Greece.

Interviewer: Had you ever thought you would be a champion in the USA?

Giannis: No, I started to play basketball to help my family. I have never dreamed that I would be 26                    years old and play in the NBA finals.

Interviewer:What do you like doing in your free time?

Giannis:I like travelling and spending time with my family, my wife and my two sons.

Interviewer: Keep up the great work!

Giannis:Thank you, Leonidas. I hope I'll come to Greece soon!

                                                 

                                                        

          An Interview with Bethany Hamilton

Interviewer:Hi, Bethany! How old are you?

Bethany: I am 33.

Interviewer:When did you learn to surf?

Bethany:I learnt to surf at the age of 3.

Interviewer:How did you lose your arm?

Bethany:I was at the Tunnels Beach surfing with my friend and I was           lying on the surfboard  when a tiger shark 4.3m. long                 attacked me and quickly bit off my left arm.

Interviewer:How much time did you not surf after the event?

Bethany:I wanted to go back to surfing so much that I learnt to surf            with one arm and returned on November 26th, 2003, just 26            days after the attack.

Interviewer:This is fantastic!Good luck to you and thank you for the             interview!

Bethany:My pleasure!
